Using , you can create custom frameworks to meet your organization's specific implementation needs and flexibly adapt to emerging privacy regulations.
You can configure custom frameworks by leveraging an existing template or uploading a brand new framework to your account.
Note
To access a framework template based on China's PIPL, click the PIPL Framework Template attachment at the end of this article.
To create a custom framework from an existing template

On the menu, select . The Templates screen appears.

Hover over a row for a template until the Context Menu icon
appears.

Click the Context Menu icon. The menu appears.

Select . The Create Custom Framework screen appears.

Enter a name and description for the custom framework.

Click the Confirm button. A confirmation dialog appears.

Click the Close button.

Click the Tasks icon
. The Notifications popover appears.

Select the Import Custom Framework Completed task from the list. The Create New Template screen appears.

Click the Create button to create a new template using your custom framework. For more information, see Adding, Editing, and Managing Cookie Consent Templates.
Once created, you can also customize additional properties, including custom logos and CMP behavior, within the OneTrust application. For more information, see Customizing the Banner Template, Customizing the Preference Center Template, and Customizing the Cookie List Template.
To import a new custom framework

On the menu, select . The Templates screen appears.

Click the Create Custom Framework button. The Create Custom Framework screen appears.

Click the Download Framework Outline button. A framework outline Excel file downloads to your device.

Open and complete the framework outline. For more information, see Localized and Non-Localized Attributes: Things to Know.
Tip
When creating a custom framework, complete the worksheet with the application open in another window so you can reference and preview your Custom Framework configuration.

Save the framework outline.

On the Create Custom Framework screen, enter a name and description for your custom framework.

Click the Upload File button to select your framework outline file.

Click the Submit button. A confirmation dialog appears.

Click the Close button.

Click the Tasks icon
. The Notifications popover appears.

Select the Import Custom Framework Completed task from the list. The Create Custom Framework screen appears.

Click the Create Template button to configure a template based on your custom framework. For more information, see Adding, Editing, and Managing Cookie Consent Templates.
Note
You can configure new templates based on any of your custom frameworks by clicking the Add New button on the Templates screen and clicking Custom Frameworks on the Create New Template screen.

Localized and Non-Localized Attributes: Things to Know
When importing, only the first two tabs, Non-Localized Attributes and Localized Attributes, will be processed by the application.
Non-Localized Attributes

Contains template settings that are the same for all languages that apply to a template.

Only the Setting Value row in the worksheet requires completion.

Default values associated with the Generic Banner framework are pre-seeded.
Localized Attributes

Contains template settings that vary for each version of a template based on the language.

Each row corresponds to a language, based on the language code in column B. Ensure these language codes correspond to what's enabled in your environment by clicking the Manage Languages button on the Template Details screen.

Advanced Languages are not supported for custom frameworks but can still be configured on template.
