You can create templates of banner, preference center, and cookie list settings to easily implement tracking technology consent and preference selection on your sites.
When a production script is published, the template and geolocation rule will change to Active. If any changes are made to the template or geolocation rule, they will revert to Draft. Scripts will display as Draft if unpublished and Published after publishing.
To create a new template
On the Cookie Consent menu, select Templates. The Templates list screen appears.
Click the Add New button. The Template modal appears.
Select either OneTrust Recommended or Custom Frameworks in the Filter By field.
Select the type of framework you want to use. If leveraging a OneTrust Recommended framework, you can select from the list below.
California Consumer Privacy Act (as amended by CPRA) creates a template with verbiage, category groupings, and settings that match more closely with the California Privacy Rights Act.
Colorado Privacy Act (CPA) creates a template with settings relevant to Data Subject Rights under the Colorado Privacy Act (CPA).
Connecticut Privacy Act (CTDPA) creates a template with settings relevant to Connecticut Act Concerning Personal Data Privacy and Online Monitoring (CTDPA).
GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) Template creates a template with verbiage, category groupings, and settings that can be used in conjunction with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) across Europe.
Generic Cookie Banner creates a template that is not specific to a framework. It is meant to be used to create a global template.
IAB Transparency and Consent Framework 2.0 creates a template for IAB Transparency and Consent Framework 2.0 based on recommended settings from the policy's user interface guidelines
IAB Transparency and Consent Framework EU 2.3 creates a template for IAB Transparency and Consent Framework (EU) 2.3 based on recommended settings from the policy's user interface guidelines.
LGPD Template (Brazil) is a template with settings and content to meet Brazil’s LGPD regulation. The default language will be automatically set to Portuguese, but this setting can be changed if needed.
Maryland Online Data Privacy Act (MODPA) creates a template with verbiage, category groupings, and settings that could be relevant to Maryland's Online Data Privacy Act.
Oregon Consumer Privacy Act (OCPA) creates a template that allows end users to opt out of the sale of personal data, targeted ads, and certain types of profiling.
Quebec Law 25 (formerly Bill 64) creates a template with verbiage, category groupings, and settings that could be relevant to Quebec Law 25 (formerly Bill 64).
US Multi-State - 2.0 creates a template that provides a basic for compliance with various US statutes, including but not limited to, Texas's Data Privacy and Security Act (DPSA), Florida's Digital Bill of Rights (DBR), Montana's Consumer Data Privacy Act (CDPA), Minnesota's Consumer Data Privacy Act (CDPA), and Indiana's Consumer Data Privacy Act (CDPA).
UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) creates a template with verbiage, category groupings, and settings that could be relevant to the UK GDPR.
US National creates a template with verbiage, category groupings, and settings that could be used across multiple US privacy regulations.
Utah Consumer Privacy Act (UCPA) creates a template with settings relevant to Utah Consumer Privacy Act (UCPA).
Virginia Consumer Data Protection Act (CDPA) creates a template with settings relevant to Virginia's Consumer Data Protection Act.
Select the language that will serve as the default for the template.
Note
The default language is the primary language for the template. You can configure additional languages and language options later in the template configuration process.
Organization
Select the organization that is responsible for the template.
To view template details
On the Cookie Consent menu, select Templates. The Templates screen appears.
Click the name of the template for which you want to view details. The Template Details screen appears.
Select the Details tab. The template details display.
On the Cookie Consent menu, select Templates. The Templates screen appears.
Click the Context Menu icon for the template you want to edit. The Context menu appears.
On the Context menu, select Edit Template. The Edit Template modal appears.
Update the Template Name and Organization as needed.
Click the Save button.
To copy a template
On the Cookie Consent menu, select Templates. The Templates screen appears.
Click the Context Menu icon for the template you want to copy. The Context menu appears.
On the Context menu, select Copy Template. The Copy Template modal appears.
Note
You can also copy templates by selecting the template and using the Context menu on the Template Details page.
Edit the name of the template and assign it to an organization.
Click the Copy Template button.
To configure a template as Universal Default
If you have multiple child organizations in your organization hierarchy, you can set a template as Universal Default. The Universal Default template will be selected by default any time a new geolocation rule is created if no organization default template exists for the user’s organization.
On the Cookie Consent menu, select Templates. The Templates screen appears.
Click the Context Menu icon for the template you want to set as Universal Default. The Context menu appears.
On the Context menu, select Set as Universal Default. A confirmation modal appears.
Click the Save button.
To delete a template
On the Cookie Consent menu, select Templates. The Templates screen appears.
Click the Context Menu icon for the template you want to delete. The Context menu appears.
On the Context menu, select Delete Template. A confirmation modal appears.
Click the Delete button.
To view previous template versions and history
On the Cookie Consent menu, select Templates. The Templates screen appears.
Select the template you would like to view. The Template Details screen appears.
Click the Context Menu icon in the header. The Context menu appears.
Select View Version History. The Version History pane appears.
Click the Expand icon to view details for each version.
Click the version number to preview the archived template version.
