Once you have created a Collection Point, you can begin building and editing the Collection Point configuration, as needed. You can enter custom Collection Point attribute values and manage languages for the Collection Point on the Collection Point Details screen. If you need to edit a published Collection Point, you can create a new version of the Collection Point to make the necessary changes.

To edit the Collection Point details

  1. On the Universal Consent & Preference Management menu, select Interfaces > Collection Points. The Collection Points screen appears.

  2. Click the link in the Name column for a Collection Point in Draft status. The Collection Point Detail screen appears.

    Note

For Collection Points in Active status, you will need to create a new version of the Collection Point before you can make changes. For more information, see To create a new Collection Point version.

    Note

Once the Collection Point is published, Purposes created from the Purposes field will be published as well. For more information, see Previewing and Publishing Collection Points.

  4. Click the Save button.

    Note

Any consent transactions generated while the Collection Point is in Draft status will be labeled as Test transactions and should not be treated as reliable records of consent because the Collection Point is still editable. For more information, see Creating Test Data for Collection Points.

To enter custom Collection Point attribute values

If custom Collection Point attributes are configured on the Attribute Manager screen, you can enter values for these attributes on the Details tab. Once the values are saved, they will be available in the public APIs.

Note

For more information on creating custom attributes, see Managing Custom Attributes for Consent.

  1. On the Universal Consent & Preference Management menu, select Interfaces > Collection Points. The Collection Points screen appears.

  2. Click the link in the Name column for a Collection Point in Draft status. The Collection Point Detail screen appears.

  3. In the Others section, you will find the custom Collection Point attributes created using the Attribute Manager. You can then add values for each custom attribute, as needed.

    Note

If the custom attribute is set to required, you will not be able to save any changes to the Collection Point until a value is entered for the attribute.

To manage Collection Point languages

You can present multi-lingual Collection Points that utilize the translations already in use for Purposes, Purpose Preferences, and Data Elements. When Purposes, Purpose Preferences, and Data Elements are displayed publicly, such as in Collection Points, it is the translations configured for those elements that will be used. If additional languages are selected on the Manage Languages modal, the Collection Point content will display in the data subject's selected language if the respective translation is configured. Otherwise, the Collection Point content will display in the default language translation.

  1. On the Universal Consent & Preference Management menu, select Interfaces > Collection Points. The Collection Points screen appears.

  2. Click the link in the Name column for a Collection Point in Draft status to which you want to add languages. The Collection Point Details screen appears.

  3. Click the Context Menu icon context_menu_icon_v2.png and select Manage Languages. The Manage Languages modal appears.

  5. Click the Save button.

To create a new Collection Point version

If you need to edit a published Collection Point in Active status, you will first need to create a new version of the Collection Point. When you create a new version, a version of the Collection Point will be created in Draft status, which allows you to make changes to the Collection Point while the published version remains unchanged.

Note

Changes made to the Collection Point will not be visible until the updated version of the Collection Point is published.

  1. On the Universal Consent & Preference Management menu, select Interfaces > Collection Points. The Collection Points screen appears.

  2. Click the link in the Name column for the published Collection Point that you want to edit. The Collection Point Details screen appears.

  3. Click the Create New Version button. The Collection Point Details screen for the new version appears in Draft status.

  4. Make the necessary changes to the Collection Point.

  5. Click the Save button.
