Customizing the Mobile App Consent Preference Center Template

Preference Centers help users of the mobile application set up preferences for the categories of SDKs established in your policy. These useful templates can be customized to align with your organization branding, language support, and SDK blocking.

To enable mobile templates

This action only needs to be performed for new templates which haven't yet been configured for mobile apps. The configuration options will be enabled by default.

  1. On the Cookie Consent menu, select Templates. The Templates screen appears.

  2. Select a template. The Template Details screen appears.

    Note

    For more information on creating templates, see Creating Mobile Templates.

  3. Enable the Mobile App Template setting in the right-hand pane. A confirmation modal will appear to permit configuration of Mobile App Templates.

    Note

    This confirmation will only appear once for new templates which haven't yet been configured for mobile apps. The configuration options will be enabled by default.

To configure a Preference Center

  1. On the Cookie Compliance menu, select Templates.

  2. Click Add New and select a consent framework or select an existing Template to edit.

  3. Navigate to the Preference Center tab, then select Mobile App from the platform selector.

  4. Click the Plus icon next to Design to open the template design options.

  5. Enable Override Web Browser Text to define new text for the mobile app experience. Leave disabled to inherit the existing language from your cookie's Preference Center.

  6. Click the Edit icon to customize sections of the template design as necessary.

Preference Center View (Mobile App Platform)

Show Logo

Enable this setting to display the logo.

Toggle Active Color

Select a color or enter a hex code for the toggle active status.

Toggle Inactive Color

Select a color or enter a hex code for the toggle inactive status.

Manage Services Label

Enter the text that will appear above the SDK and Vendor lists in the Preference Center.

Show SDK List

Enable this setting to allow the SDK List to show in the Preference Center.

SDK List Label

Enter the title for the SDK List. For more information, see SDK List View.

Allow SDK Level Opt-out

Enable this setting to allow users to opt-out of consent from the SDK level.

Show Powered by OneTrust (Preview)

Note

The Show Powered by OneTrust feature is currently under preview. If your organization would like to enable access to any of the preview features listed below, please contact OneTrust Support to submit the request.

Enable this setting to show the Powered By OneTrust logo on your Preference Center.

Show Line Break

Enable this setting to show the custom color for the application's line breaks.

Line Break Color

Select the desired color of your line breaks.

Purpose Details View

The Purpose Details tab shows a preview of how your purpose of processing will appear on a mobile device. The majority of the Purpose Details configurations are pulled in from the Cookie Policy section of the Web Browser tab. Click the Web Browser tab to gain access to the Cookie Policy Link modal under the Content menu.

Behavior

The IAB USP String Config tab houses the setting Do you wish to compute IAB USP String for this template?, which can be configured for use with IAB templates.

CCPA Category

Select a CCPA Category from the dropdown menu.

CCPA Geolocation

Select a CCPA geolocation from the dropdown menu.

Limited Services Provider Agreement

Select True or False from the dropdown menu to show the Limited Services Provider Agreement.

Explicit Notice

Select True or False from the dropdown menu to show the Explicit Notice.

To configure a Preference Center (Web Browser Platform)

  1. On the Cookie Compliance menu, select Templates.

  2. Click Add New and select a consent framework or select an existing Template to edit.

  3. Navigate to the Preference Center tab, then select Web Browser from the platform selector.

  4. Click the Content section.

  5. Click the Edit icon to customize sections of the template design as necessary.

    Note

    Certain aspects of the Title & Description, Cookie Policy Link, and Button Sets are configured under the Mobile App Platform. For more information, see Preference Center View (Mobile App Platform).

Enable this setting to show either the Close button option or the Show Continue Without Accepting Link. Use the radio button to choose your preferred option.

Enter the text that will be read out when a screen reader comes across your Close button.

Back Button Screen Reader Value (aria-label)

Enter the text that will be read out when a screen reader comes across your Back button.

Enable persistent Cookie Settings hover button

Enable this setting to create a floating button that allows acccess to your Preference Center.

Vendor List Link

Enter the name of the link if you desire to link to the unfiltered Vendor List from the Preference Center.

Vendor List Link Screen Reader Value (aria-label)

The text that will be read out when a screen reader comes across your Vendor List link.

Vendor List View

The Vendor List view shows a preview of how your Vendor List will appear on a mobile device. For IAB templates, IAB vendors, Google Vendors, and General Vendors are available. For non-IAB templates, Google vendors and General vendors are available. Use the filter icon to the right of the search feature to filter the Vendor List.

The majority of Vendor List configurations are pulled from the Vendor List section of the Web Browser tab.

Enter the text that will be read out when a screen reader comes across the Apply button next to your filter.

Enter the text that will be read out when a screen reader comes across the Clear button next to your filter.

Vendor List Modal

Select the Web Browser tab to access the Content area of the Preference Center.

Enabling the Show General Vendors setting allows you to reveal the general vendors assigned to each website using this template to end users.

View Privacy Policy

This is the text that will show for the View Privacy Policy link.

Vendor Level Opt-out

Enabling this setting allows end users to opt-out by individual vendor.

Enabling the Show Cookies List setting allows you to configure details regarding the cookies being collected for your purpose of processing.

The text for the title of the cookie list.

Duration Label

Check the Show Duration option to insert text that will appear on the Duration button.

Type Label

Check the Show Type option to insert text that will appear on the Type button.

Category Label

Check the Category option to insert text that will appear on the Category button.

Description Label

Check the Description option to insert text that will appear on the Description button.

Host Label

Check the Host option to insert text that will appear on the Host button.

First Party

This field designates the cookie as directly from the application.

Third Party

This field designates the cookie as from a third-party source.

Vendor Details View

The Vendor Details view shows a preview of the first enabled Vendor on the Vendor List's details, including the privacy policy link, vendor description, and related purposes.

SDK List View

The SDK List view shows a preview of how your SDK List will appear on a mobile device.

To enable the User ID

You can enable the User ID setting to expose a unique Data Subject ID (DSID) to end users who access your mobile Preference Center.

  1. On the Cookie Consent menu, select Templates. The Templates screen appears.

  2. Under the Template Name column, select the template you want to edit. The emplate Details screen appears.

  3. Select the Preference Center tab. The Preference Center preview screen appears.

  4. Under the Platform Web Browser menu, click the Content section.

  5. Click the edit icon edit_icon.pngnext to the User ID setting. The User ID modal appears.

  6. Enable the Show User ID setting. Enter a title under the Title field to appear above the User ID that will randomly generate for the end user. Additionally, the end user will have the opportunity to copy their ID from the modal.

    Note

    Enable consent logging in the geolocation rule in order for the User ID to populate. For more information, see Consent Logging for Mobile App Consent.

  7. Enable the Show Description setting to display a description for the DSID to the end user. This field can be edited as needed.

  8. Enable the Timestamp Title setting to show the time the user consented. The Not Yet Consented Text field will appear if the user has not yet consented.

  9. Enable the Show Divider Bar setting to display the bar that separates the User Id section from the Manage Preferences section of the Preference Center.

Advanced Configuration

Choose and configure the categories for your Preference Center in this section.

Under Settings, the Category Group name and description are listed, along with the following settings:

  • Show Subgroups (only for Parent group)

    • Enable this setting to allow the subgroups to be shown.

  • Show Subgroup description (only for Parent group)

    • Enable this setting to allow the subgroup description to be shown.

  • Allow Subgroup opt-out (only for Parents group)

    • Enable this setting to allow end users to opt-out of subgroups.

  • Show SDK List Link (all categories)

    • Enable this setting to show or hide the SDK list link the category.

Disable Category

Select this option to disable the category from the list.

Move to Subgroup

Select this option to move the category to a sub-group.
